Return to Cambridge

Well, just in case you have nothing better to read, I thought I'd try this blogging thing to keep everyone updated on our lives.

I arrived back safe and sound yesterday after a red-eye flight (I did manage to sleep a bit, though it never seems like enough). I feel surprisingly well-rested today, so we began our flat-hunting. We awoke to a dreary, rainy day (typical July in Cambridge, apparently) and checked out what the University Accommodation Service has to offer. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the one-bedroom option is nicely furnished and not too cramped. It's definitely an option, though we will do some more hunting over the weekend.

I made it halfway through The Hobbit on the plane--it's every bit as good the second time. One of the main themes in the book is Bilbo getting out of his comfort zone and tapping into his adventurous side, though all the while he battles the urge to just go home, put on his kettle, and drink some tea. I can certainly identify!

That's all for now. I had a lovely time with Mum, Dad, Sarah, Rachel, Christian, and various other family members over the past week. We just get more and more fun with age!
