Beyond the hedgerow

So what's in your backyard? Tonight we took an excursion beyond our own hedgerow to explore the Coton Footpath, just 50 feet from our flat. The path provides our main access to the city centre, but tonight we walked in the opposite direction to the village of Coton. Coton doesn't have much happening, save the 'gastro-pub' (I know, this British restaurant category doesn't exactly sound appealing) on High Street called The Plough. After a picturesque walk through fresh green fields and hedges (complete with sun-ripening blackberries) and an exciting bridge-crossing over the busy M11 motorway, we arrived. We both ordered well-prepared fish dishes and chocolate fudge cake for 'pudding'. The atmosphere was relaxed and the decor was simple, classic and cozy...lots of beautiful hard wood and big fireplaces. As we strolled home, the blueish glow from the waxing moon lit our way--we had a splendid evening!

  1. We did that once on our bikes, but without the scrumptious dinner - looks like you had a great night out!
